Born in Somerset in 1982, Alice began playing the cello at the age of four. At the age of fourteen she entered Chetham's School of Music in Manchester where she studied cello with Gillian Thoday. At the age of sixteen she transferred her studies to the Purcell School in Bushey where she learned with Pal Banda (Allegri Quartet) and Alexander Boyarsky. Currently Alice learns with Leonid Gorokhov at the Royal College of Music, where she has participated in masterclasses with Natalie Clein and Nick Jones.

Alice has been enthusiastic about chamber music from an early age, performing at Wigmore Hall, Manchester Cello Festival, St John's Smith Square and Manchester Cathedral. She has received chamber music coaching from Dr Christopher Rowland, David Smith, Ian Jewel and members of the Chilingirian Quartet. She was also involved in the Schubert Ensemble's outreach project of

2000 during which she performed world premiers of Phillip Cashian and Gerald Barry.

Since studying at the RCM Alice's orchestral playing has included projects with, Bernard Haitink, Rodger Norrington, John Wilson, Neil Thompson, Gareth Jones and Lutz Kohler in the RCM Sinfonietta, RCM Symphony Orchestra, UdK Sinfonie Orkester and Sinfonia Cymru.

As well as performing, Alice is enthusiastic about education. Recently she has been involved in teaching at Wells Cathedral School, London Oratory School, St Marylebone's Girls School, and workshops at St Paul's Boy's School as well as playing with The Elastic Band.
