Born in Somerset in 1982, Alice began playing the cello at the age of four. At the age of fourteen she entered Chetham's School of Music in Manchester where she studied cello with Gillian Thoday. At the age of sixteen she transferred her studies to the Purcell School in Bushey where she learned with Pal Banda (Allegri Quartet) and Alexander Boyarsky. Currently Alice learns with Leonid Gorokhov at the Royal College of Music, where she has participated in masterclasses with Natalie Clein and Nick Jones. |

Alice has been enthusiastic about chamber music from an early age, performing at Wigmore Hall, Manchester Cello Festival, St John's Smith Square and Manchester Cathedral. She has received chamber music coaching from Dr Christopher Rowland, David Smith, Ian Jewel and members of the Chilingirian Quartet. 2000 during which she performed world premiers of Phillip Cashian and Gerald Barry. |
